Since 1992 Fondazione Altagamma has brought together more than 70 Italian companies active in the fields of fashion, design, speed, hospitality, perfume, jewellery, footwear, nutrition and wellness. These cutting edge businesses are very export orientated and well known worldwide.
Each brand has its own distinct identity, but all are international ambassadors for the very best of Italy and the quality of life this country offers.
Italian cultural identity is based on an ability to combine tradition with modernity, craftsmanship with technology, and aesthetics with functionality in a very original way. This is one of the main factors in the success of many Italian products. The values embodied by Altagamma companies find a correspondence in the intangible demands of aesthetics, culture, social interaction, identity and emotionality of an increasingly vast consumer public.
On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the Fondazione Altagamma has put together an exhibition that illustrates the values and symbols characterising high-end Italian businesses and has done so in a very attractive format of great cultural value.
The Altagamma Italian Contemporary Excellence is a collection of snapshots by 10 young Italian news photographers. The exhibition has been coordinated by the Contrasto agency, commissioned to create a new angle on Italian excellence from an objective and neutral perspective.
The images form a unique mosaic that shows off "the beautiful, the good and the well made" of Italian companies of excellence.
The project, curated by Cristina Morozzi, also includes a book of photographs, published by Rizzoli and Rizzoli International, and a travelling exhibition, which kicked off on 13 december 2013 at Triennale Milano and continued at the Shanghai Italian Center in May and June 2013.
